Energy supply 2011

Energy supply 2011

How can we cover our energy needs in a sustainable way, so that supply becomes economically, socially and ecologically acceptable? How can we tap into the energy sources of tomorrow? Which technologies do we have at our disposal? ETH Sustainability has dedicated the year 2011 to the subject of energy.

Various activities address questions such as «What are the energy sources of the future?» or «How can we cover our energy needs sustainably and economically?»

ETH Energy Talks of 2 September 2011

energiegespaech_201

It is not only because of the dramatic events in Japan that the worldwide demand for safe, affordable and reliable energy sources has grown. As one of the leading nations in innovation and technology, Switzerland plays a pioneering role in the design of a sustainable future for energy sources. Because of its wide interdisciplinary scope, ETH Zurich is able to present a well-founded and holistic perspective on this subject. Its research results are channelled into specific projects that contribute to securing an environmentally-friendly means of energy supply, while optimising efficiency and enhancing Switzerland's economic position at the same time.
